CIS Majors: IMPORTANT
Have technical elective course credit authorized on your degree plan before taking the course.
At least two of the four required technical electives must be upper division (3000 or 4000 level) courses. For official course descriptions and prerequisites visit the University of Houston Course Catalog.
The CIS program accepts all 3000 or 4000-level classes in the Cullen College of Engineering (including in the Department of Information Science Technology) and the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics as Technical Electives. CIS courses that are not already applied to the degree can also be taken as a technical elective. Any COSC lower level, BCIS 1305, CIS 1332/2332, DIGM 2325, DIGM 2376 can be applied as a technical elective. Accelerated students can take CIS 6322, CIS 6325, TEPM 6301.
